Why do you blog?
I’ve kept diaries consistently since I was in middle school. I got my first diary in the third grade and I still have it.
Writing is a great way to self reflect and organize thoughts. Writing has given me a measurement for growth and is a great tool for self assessment. Reading old diaries is very eye opening.
I still write in diaries in my late forties. I blog to share my work instead of keeping it to myself. I hope others enjoy my writing and that it is beneficial in some way.
This blog is an opportunity for creative expression and it gives me a voice and platform I wouldn’t have otherwise. I have a moderate amount of subscribers. I’m impressed that in this modern age I can reach as many people as I do. I’m grateful and flattered by everyone that has chosen to subscribe and read my posts.
I hope to be able to monetize my work and this website in the future. Blogging would be great supplemental income and possible retirement income.
I also have a You Tube channel. I would appreciate it if you subscribe to this blog or my You Tube channel.

Pray for American the American Workforce 🇺🇸 👷 🖥️👨💼
American workers have created the biggest economy human history has ever seen. American workers sacrifice so we can have a strong and thriving country. There is disheartening news from the American workforce this week. Be prayerful about your career and your workplace. My condolences to the friends and families of the victims in these stories.
Two Delta Workers Die and One Injured in Atlanta
This story is very tragic. Two Delta employees died while at work due to an accident involving an airplane tire that exploded. The tire was not attached to the plane. Another employee was injured. They worked in airplane maintenance. One of the men was a family man in his fifties and was planning to retire at the end of the year.
Woman Dies in her Cubicle at Work – Sits for Four Days
I don’t understand this story. I’m unsure how this woman sat dead at her desk for four days before her bodied was discovered. She came to work on Friday and left in a body bag on Tuesday. Her body sat at her desk for an entire business day. Employees didn’t investigate until they began to smell her flesh rot. They thought it was a plumbing problem in the building. It seems that no one thought about her. I think her office mates and certainly her supervisor are very lazy. I’m curious about her family and social connections. She was sixty years old and her story is very sad.
Man is Abandoned by Colleagues on Hiking Trip
I’m glad I never had to participate in a team building exercise like this. Good grief. I kind of think they were trying to kill the man. Why would they pull up the trail markers? I would love to be a fly on the wall of the next staff meeting. I wonder what they’re interactions are like after this hiking trip. There are a lot of two faced, phony people around.
Trust in God and remain prayerful. Ask for discernment in your interactions with others. Pray for safety in the workplace. Be grateful and enjoy every day. We need Jesus Christ in these times.

There is No One to Drive Sneaker Sales
Since the mid 80s there has been an NBA star to drive sneaker sales for athletic apparel companies. Sales for athletic apparel companies are declining. They blame economic pressure for the decline in sales. That may be a small part of it but I think the real reason is that there is no star power like there has been in the past.
The 90s was the golden era of the NBA. I’m glad I was alive to witness it. Michael Jordan made his mark in fashion with the debut of his Air Jordan shoe line with Nike. I remember when Jordans hit the market. I was in elementary school. It was a sensation. Jordans have been an urban fashion staple for three decades. Kobe Bryant drove sneakers sales with Adidas for decades as well. Apparel companies had bankable stars for years.
James is the current patriarch of the NBA. He has a legendary career and an inspiring backstory. But Lebron is not associated with one team like players before him. I don’t blame Lebron for moving around to different markets but players that were associated with one team had more marketing potential and a built in brand and consumer base.
Well known players of the NBA are in their thirties. They have made impressive marks on the sport but Durant, Curry, Harden and even James don’t have the star power of Jordan and Bryant. The younger players aren’t as exciting and don’t have the appeal of players of the 90s and 00s.
The NBA is turning into a nepo baby league. Many of the players are from privileged backgrounds and some have multi generational pro athletic league connections. (Kobe did too.) There is nothing wrong with that but the backstories aren’t as interesting. Players aren’t selling the dream they once did. Furthermore, players are more conscious of their brand as teenagers. In this social media age there is no personality. It’s all branding.
Black American culture is evolving. Educational attainment and affluence has grown. Black American culture is becoming more diverse and sophisticated. Black American culture isn’t concentrated in urban culture like it was in the 80s and 90s. People tend to forget that Gen X is the first generation of Americans not to live under legalized race restrictions. Young people that were the sneaker consumers of the golden era have grown up.
NBA fans will never see an era like the 90s or 00s. I don’t think sneaker companies will ever see sales of past decades again either. After Lebron retires I don’t know what the apparel companies are going to do. The NBA and it’s fans are different from it’s peak.

I love television so there are too many shows to list. If a show was popular in the 80s or 90s there is a good chance I watched it. 🛋🥔
