Nicki Minaj is a disgrace. She appeared at a Republican campaign event in Michigan over the weekend. Trump said she had a beautiful ass and told her to stand up while she was in the crowd. Nicki demurely stood up and waved at the audience. It was disgusting. Nicki and the president are embarrassments. If you didn’t know Nicki Minaj is a married woman with a young son.
Nicki Minaj is a rapper. Rap music has been criticized for being misogynistic and degrading to women. They have a point. I don’t deny that a lot of rap lyrics are crass, vulgar and disrespectful to women. But rappers don’t try and take a moral high ground.
Hip Hop presented an image and listeners can take it or leave it. Besides that rappers don’t create government policy. The influence they have is what people give them but they have no authority.
This scene doesn’t live up to Nicki’s assertive girl boss image. Nicki brags about shopping for shoes with a comma on the price tag and being sexually dominant. But she acted like she was in line at a brothel when Trump told her to stand up. The woman has no pride whatsoever. Trump made a fool out of her and she doesn’t care. I really shouldn’t be surprised.
