We Have One Thing Going For Us
We have one thing going for us. Trump is a liar and a scammer. He sells false hope and doesn’t follow through. That’s a scammers pattern. Trump has notoriously followed this pattern for years in his business dealings. There are numerous business people on the east coast that can attest to this. Now that Trump has been elected as US president for the second time that works for me because his plans are reckless and diabolical.
Trump wants to place tariffs on imported goods, particularly those from China. In order to feed his ego, Trump said in his victory speech that he wants a trade war with China who has the second biggest economy in the world. Tariffs are fees on imported goods. Trump thinks tariffs will give American businesses an advantage.
I see how that could work in a very simple theory but I don’t think a trade war will work the way Trump thinks it will. If the US places tariffs on foreign imports other countries could do the same to the US. Tariffs would affect American manufacturing and retail sales. A trade war could hurt the US and global economy.
Trump also wants to deport illegal immigrants in mass. I don’t understand how he plans on doing this. I don’t understand how they plan to pursue, arrest, try and convict illegal immigrants. This doesn’t make any sense. I imagine he might deputize individuals which would leave to more chaos.
Trump is an agent of chaos and confusion who thrives in drama. I hope he is simply using his hateful rhetoric to stir emotions and that’s it. I hope Trump follows his typical pattern of not following through on his promises. The fact that Trump is a compulsive liar might work out for us.

I deleted my Twitter account today. I’m going to make an effort to block out current events and politics for the next few years.

I’m highly disappointed in the 2024 election results but I’m proud. I think Joe Biden is a great president, Kamala Harris was a great candidate and I am a great supporter. It didn’t go my way but I followed my head and heart. I followed the news, did the reading and know history. I knew what I wanted for my future in this country.
I volunteered for the Democrats in my county in my red state. I did lit drops in nearby neighborhoods on the weekends. I’m glad the election is behind me so I can have my weekends free. I’m proud of myself for putting forth that effort against the odds.
I’m disappointed that a notorious con man, convicted felon and accused sex criminal was elected over an educated, accomplished biracial woman. The rhetoric about Kamala Harris leading up to the election was very degrading and not fair to her. As a Black woman I find it to be highly offensive. It’s clear what America really thinks about Black women. It makes me question my place in the country where I was born.
I’m glad the election is over. I did my part and did what I thought was right. I wasn’t in the majority so my view will not prevail. I hope something good comes out of the second Trump Administration. The first one was a disaster.
