RIP to the Biggest Sex Symbol of the 90s: D’Angelo

RIP D’Angelo. Neo Soul singer D’Angelo died on 10/14/25 from prostate cancer at fifty one years old. D’Angelo was a neo soul singer whose career peaked in the 90s and early 00s. His biggest hits were “Brown Sugar” and “Untitled (How Does it Feel). The sultry video to “Untitled” was legendary. The video was simple, sexy, sultry and it created thick sexual tension between D’Angelo and the viewer.
D’Angelo was a father of three. He had one son with late soul singer Angie Stone who died in a car crash in March.
Neo Soul is my favorite era and style of music and D’Angelo made his mark in the genre.

Henry Ossawa Tanner
Henry Ossawa Tanner was a Black American painter that was born in the mid 1800s. These are the two paintings of Tanner that are most familiar to me. These are two of my favorite paintings. Henry Ossawa Tanner had a long career as an artist. His art depicts domestic life and Biblical themes.

Edward Hopper
Edward Hopper is an American painter from NYC that was born in the late 1880s. He made paintings that depicted quiet solitude. Hopper was married for a long time. It’s thought that his relationship with his wife influenced his artwork. They didn’t get along. Nighthawks is my favorite painting. It speaks to me. It’s dark, edgy, urban, mysterious with still tension.

Bob Ross
Bob Ross is an under rated American hero from the state of Missouri. Bob Ross, former military man, encouraged creativity, risk taking, bravery and forgiveness of self for mistakes through painting. Everyone knows “The Joy of Painting”. It ran on PBS between 1983-1994. Bob encouraged viewers to not be afraid to try something different. It’s OK if your effort is not perfect or exactly what you expected. It’s a matter of discovery and faith.

Question of the Day 9.22.25 🍔🤢🗣️
I made Sloppy Joe’s with ground turkey once. It was disgusting and I threw it in the trash after one bite. The one bite probably went in the trash too but I can’t remember. I was very upset because I went through the trouble of a making dinner that I thought would be tasty and healthy but it was awful. I never bought ground turkey again. I never will.
