Why do people pursue a romantic partner or domestic life? Different people will give different answers. The reasons for even pursuing a romantic relationship and commitment has turned into an online scam that sets relationships up for failure. Black social media spaces commonly tell women to be a man’s peace. This isn’t sustainable. It’s a scam that drains women.

Jesus Christ is our peace. Jesus Christ was martyred for our sins. It’s not my job to be anyone’s peace. That’s not to say I want to be quarrelsome and cantankerous but being another person’s peace is a huge burden to bear. Everyone is responsible for their own peace, growth and mental health. I also think the relationship standard of a woman being a man’s peace absolves him of any responsibility.

Reasons to pursue a romantic relationship or marriage:

establish a household/family with a person of similar values

    expand your family

    honor God as a couple

honor your significant other as your spouse

combine resources such as time, money, domestic labor

    social status

There are many benefits to a healthy, harmonious marriage (I assume). A pleasant home life with someone you love is great for a person’s well being. But traditionally marriage has been for empire building or at least building family legacy and identity. African Americans have lost sight of that over the last few generations.

Men are being brainwashed to think of women as emotional support animals. Women are being brainwashed to think they are responsible for a man’s ego and peace while maintaining the looks and personality of a mannequin. This marriage model is shallow and unrealistic. If a man is not strong mentally and spiritual no woman will satisfy him over time.

Women are human, mere mortals. She’ll inevitably get older and will get further from a pornwashed man’s feminine ideal. Humans aren’t always sweet, understanding and available to fulfill the emotional needs of another adult. That’s exhausting and no one can do that for a lifetime without inflicting suffering on themselves. Respect and kindness between two mature people who are grounded in Christ and have good coping and interpersonal skills is a more sustainable long term goal.

The idea that a woman needs to be a man’s peace centers the man’s needs and puts the woman in a position of emotional servitude. A marriage that models this idea will drain the woman and put her at a deficit in every way. It’s essentially her job to service this man’s every whim. Men that want another being to be their peace should get a pet.

The “Be His Peace” crowd are fond of telling Black women that their education and careers aren’t relevant to what a man wants in a partner or relationship success. This statement illustrates how shallow and fickle people are. A man that’s smart would consider an educated woman to be an asset.

Studies have shown that financial difficulties result in marital tension. People that achieve a higher education usually make more money which would benefit a household. Studies also reveal that children with well educated mothers have better vocabularies, higher literacy rates and perform better in school. One would assume educated Black women would be seen as an asset considering the history Black people have had in America.

If Black people were serious about advancing and gaining wealth in America they would think about marriage and family ties differently. The fact that so many people have repeated that a woman should simply be a man’s peace for years speaks to a lack of wisdom, maturity and seriousness. This foolishness needs to stop. Men need to grow up and women need to stop accepting such nonsense.

My advice to women is to find a man already at peace. He needs to be at peace spiritually, mentally and financially. Men on social media like to make the condition of a woman’s body an issue so he should have healthy habits in place to ensure present and future physical peace. Those are all things he should want for himself. If he hasn’t achieved that he shouldn’t be looking for a partner. Find a man that wants to provide you with a protective, masculine covering. A husband should be offering his wife peace. He shouldn’t be demanding peace from her.

There is a new scam brewing on the internet. It’s called an ice cream date.

This is very stupid considering that it takes fifteen minutes or less to eat ice cream. It has to be consumed quickly because it literally loses it’s consistency after a short time. It’s often purchased and taken to a different location. If you meet someone for an ice cream date what exactly can you establish about a person in those fifteen minutes?

The man is likely meeting many women from an app and wants to invest as little as possible. He is basically holding auditions to be a part of his vagina pool. (I want to emphasize man and woman and not teenaged boy and girl) In a brief interaction men can establish what a woman looks like in the flesh which is their objective. Since men are concerned about being cat fished with old pictures and filters they should get off apps and approach women in person. But again that’s too much of an investment.

A woman has nothing to gain from this kind date. A woman is making herself available to be looked over by a strange man like a piece of merchandise on Facebook Marketplace. The woman has a lot to lose by meeting up with a stranger with no real plans. Gray areas can be dangerous for women.

I’m not convinced that this is a real conversation. The man that posted it said he’s not Vance. I’m fairly convinced that very little that trends on social media does so organically anymore. I think most things that are put in front of social media users are there to bait people into sex trafficking or at least to make themselves available to strangers for sex. I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the dating apps made this trend.

I’m very disappointed at all of the middle aged women that think an ice cream date is a good idea. They may be sheltered by a long marriage which is great. If that’s the case they should stay out of modern dating conversations. Women need to be more discerning and value themselves and their time more. Feminist values have made women naive. Women are lacking wisdom, are not basing their lives in reality and are acting as pick mes.

It’s not likely that a woman will be harmed on an ice cream date but it’s a big gamble. All it takes is one encounter with the wrong person and that could change your life and the lives of everyone that knows you forever.

Furthermore, this woman just didn’t want to go on an ice cream date. She didn’t want to go and she stated that clearly. An ice cream date isn’t a part of her vision. These are strangers that likely met on an app so there isn’t likely to be an emotional investment. I think it’s better to look for reasons to not go on a date than there is to go on a date.

Aside from the safety risk I don’t see a reason to get ready for a date and drive to an ice cream parlor to eat ice cream for fifteen minutes and then have a conversation with a stranger about what to do next. Women are being suckers if they don’t think that man already has an end game and best case scenario in mind. A woman would be on defense the entire time on a date like that. Meeting at a restaurant is a slower pace and a more structured environment.

Spending money on dates seems to be a big issue for people. There is a restaurant chain that caters to any budget so a first date isn’t really a large expense unless the couple decide to make it elaborate.

Men online seem to be concerned that they are being taken for advantage of and used for food. I recommend that they be more selective in who they ask out on dates as opposed to trying to link up with any woman on an app that will give them the time of day. If being used for a meal at a family restaurant is a concern I recommend meeting up at a library. No one has to spend a dime.

Some libraries have meeting rooms where you can speak privately. That clears everything up and it’s not a fake date where a man can pretend to be offering anything to a woman. A meet up at a library can be long or short. It’s a safer environment with some structure. There is no fake date activity so you and your suitor can get to the point.

If you reserve a meeting room you need to check in at the service desk so there is a witness and there are surveillance cameras. Many libraries have security. This protect everyone’s interests. I love ice cream but I don’t feel the need to go there on a date. Ice cream runs are to be done in basketball shorts and a t shirt with flip flops. It’s a solitary activity or something you do with whoever is near you. Ice cream dates are not a good first date or meet up activity.

  • Summer Book Review: Manhood

I listened to “Manhood” by Josh Hawley on audio book. For context, Josh Hawley is my senator. I didn’t vote for him and I don’t like him one bit. However he isn’t wrong about everything. I agree with part of his point of view in this book. Don’t judge me.

Hawley expressed concern for the state of American manhood. I have some of the same concerns. Manhood and masculinity is necessary in families and society in general. American culture doesn’t respect masculinity and tends to emasculate men. Men, women and children suffer for the lack of respect for masculinity in American culture. I’m glad Senator Hawley made that statement publicly.

The book goes south because Hawley blames everything on Democrats and “woke” ideology. That doesn’t make any sense to me because this isn’t a political matter. Hawley cites statistics in his book that state a high number of young men don’t participate in the workforce, live with their parents, don’t marry, aren’t sexually active, spend a lot of time playing video games and consuming pornography. I don’t think Democrats, the LGBT community can be blamed for all of that.

As a senator Hawley could favor a higher minimum wage, union labor, easier access to higher education, trade school programs and affordable housing. As a Christian man he could encourage men to seek guidance from the Bible and share Biblical principals. He doesn’t do either.

Josh Hawley is a useless senator and acts as a chaos agent. His book discusses so called Christian ethics but not discipleship, faith in Christ or Bible study. His book largely references the old testament which is weird to me. The premise of “Manhood” is worth consideration but the book takes a quick nose dive quickly. Hawley doesn’t offer any solid solutions. It’s as if he forgets he’s in the US Senate.
