Question of the Day 3.9.26 π¬
Daily writing promptYouβre going on a cross-country trip. Airplane, train, bus, car, or bike?If I was traveling cross country I would take a plane. I like road trips so a bus or car is not out of the question. I’ve never taken a train but I am interested in taking a train ride. A bike is absolutely out of the question. I would only consider traveling cross country by bike in an apocalyptic event and even then it would be a last resort.

End Times Playlist
This is for fun so don’t take this seriously. I like to make playlists and post them on this blog. But I have to admit. There are things going on that I’ve been hearing end time teachers talk about. It’s shocking to witness and I’m a believer. Well we don’t know the day, hour or time frame so just enjoy the music. βͺβ«
Matthew 25:12-14King James Version
12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
The Bible says we don’t know the day or the hour but some of the current events of the day sound like end time prophesy I’ve been hearing of for years. I call myself a believer but I have to admit I’m taken aback by it all. Things that seemed far out and unbelievable twenty years ago are on the news. Welp!
Prince – The Most Beautiful Girl in the World
Prince wrote this song about a pretty lady he wants to be with at the end of all time. RIP my guy.πππͺ¦
βͺWhen the day turns into the last day of all time, I can say I hope you are in these arms of mineβ«
Outkast – B.O.B. (Bombs Over Baghdad)
The title says it all. I know Baghdad is in Iraq and Trump and Netanyahu attacked Iran. Current events still made me think of this hyper dance song that came out in 2000. I remember this song disappeared from radio and TV after GWB invaded Iraq.
Lil Wayne – Tha Block is Hot
“The block is hot” is slang meaning there is a lot of drama in the neighborhood. Give this a global context and it applies to today’s world.
The New Jersey Mass Choir – He’s Coming Back
Revelation 1:7 KJV
7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
Just Keith and Evelyn – May The Work I’ve Done Speak For Me
Your life will have to speak for itself when the time comes. Make good choices. Choose Jesus.
John 14:6 KJV
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
The Black Eyed Peas – I Got a Feeling
This song reminds me of a time when the biggest concern was where to go for brunch or whether to go out on Saturday night or not. This is for everyone that’s ever hung out with me. It’s a pretty long and diverse group of people and locations. Thanks for being cute and fun. Love ya and God bless. ππ₯βπΏπ
Mercy Me – I Can Only Imagine
This song was released in 2001. If you attended a mega or semi mega church, listened to Christian Contemporary radio or taken in Christian media over the last twenty five years you know this. I honestly can’t imagine what it will be like.
βͺSurrounded by Your glory, What will my heart feel? Will I dance for you Jesus, Or in awe of You be still?β«
New Edition – Is This the End?
This is a song about the possible end of a youthful love affair. It still works because well, is this the end? We wanna know.
βͺIs this the end?
I wanna know, I wanna know, I wanna know
Is this the end, girl? (Ooh)
Is this the end?
I gotta know, I gotta know, I gotta know
Is this the end? (Ooh)β«R.E.M. – It’s The End of The World
This is the easy lay up courtesy of R.E.M. It may not be the very end but I do think it’s the end as we’ve known it.
Hootie & The Blowfish – Only Wanna Be with You
A song to remind you of your sweetheart during this uncertainty.π
βͺWell there’s nothing I can do, I only wanna be with youβ«
Green Day – American Idiot
American idiots brought us to this point. If America made different choices our biggest concerns could be Easter plans. Green Day sang this song about our countrymen at Superbowl LX.
βͺWelcome to a new kind of tension, All across the alienation, Where everything isn’t meant to be okay, In television dreams of tomorrow, We’re not the ones who’re meant to follow, For that’s enough to argueβ«
Def Leppard – Armageddon It
Another easy lay up. I’m unsure what Def Leppard is talking about but Armageddon is the Lord’s final battle that takes place in the Middle East.

Question of the Day 3.4.26
Daily writing promptHow has a failure, or apparent failure, set you up for later success?I’ve learned to make the most of every opportunity and life experience. Nothing is perfect. Experiences always teach something. All experiences can be built upon and applied to a different life situation or stage. One experience can lead a door to another. That’s life.

Patriotic Education – 2026

I wrote a post in 2020 called “Patriotic Education”. I wrote about my participation in the American educational system. I went through a public educational system k-12 outside of Detroit, Michigan. The student body was diverse. My high school graduating class was about 85% Black. I said all of this for context.
MAGA says they want American students to have a patriotic education. I grew up in the 80s and 90s and I think I had a patriotic education. Every day from kindergarten to fifth grade my school had a sing a patriotic song. I was one of three songs for six years. The choices were “Star Spangled Banner”, “This Land is Your Land” and “My Country Tis of Thee”. We also said the “Pledge of Allegiance” every morning. That seems pretty patriotic to me.
The point of this post is that I’ve reviewed the post from 2020 and two of the links I posted are no longer available. The You Tube posting to “This Land is Your Land” is gone. “My Country Tis of Thee” is gone as well. That strikes me as ironic. I’m unsure of the reason but I will post them again along with some of the lyrics and the national anthem. Hopefully these won’t be wiped from the internet.
“This Land is Your Land”

βͺ This land is your land, this land is my land From California, to the New York Island From the Redwood Forest, to the Gulf Stream Waters This land was made for you and me β« …
“My Country Tis of Thee”

β¦ βͺ My country ’tis This wee sweet land of liberty Of thee I sing Land where my fathers died Land of the pilgrim’s pride From every mountainside Let freedom ring β«
“Star Spangled Banner”
https://www.loc.gov/collections/patriotic-melodies/articles-and-essays/star-spangled-banner/
βͺ O say can you see, by the dawnβs early light, What so proudly we hailβd at the twilightβs last gleaming, Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight Oβer the ramparts we watchβd were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocketβs red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there,…βͺI forgot about this one. We sang this too.
“America the Beautiful”
https://www.loc.gov/collections/patriotic-melodies/articles-and-essays/america-the-beautiful/
βͺ America! America! God shed his grace on thee And crown thy good with brotherhood From sea to shining sea! β«
The federal government recently hung a banner of a racist podcaster from the Department of Education building in Washington D.C. I’m shocked, saddened and disgusted. How have we come to this?

Question of the Day 3.2.26
I don’t like dishonest, indirect questions. I don’t like questions that are prompts and set ups. I don’t like it when people talk about one thing but are digging for another. Job interviews and dating is a common setting for fake, meaningless questions.
I appreciate questions that are direct and genuine. A relationship where the other party doesn’t ask any questions can be, well questionable. They probably aren’t interested in you as a human being, what you want and what you have to offer. They are likely digging for info that signals you might suit their agenda and needs. They could just ask questions about that but they don’t want to state what that really is and how you would fit into it. Questions reveal something about the person asking.
Some people avoid asking a direct question because they don’t want a direct answer. They don’t want to give the person they’re talking to the opportunity to tell their story and speak on their own behalf. Some people don’t ask questions because they don’t want to listen to what is being said. If they listened it wouldn’t be as easy to create their own narrative and project their preconceived notions onto an individual.
Honest, meaningful, open communication can be hard to come by. American culture in 2026 is based on scamming, selfishness, stinginess, pettiness and snobbery. A lot of people prefer to project a narrative onto another instead of seeking and accepting the truth and the terms of the other party. This is done to degrade others and bolster one’s own image and status.
Getting to know others and accepting them as individuals takes objectivity, respect and humility. Selfishness, prejudice and biases need to be laid aside if both sides are to be considered and you are seeking a mutually beneficial relationship. Very few people look for mutually beneficial relationships. They seek to gain as much as possible while giving as little as possible. It’s the American way.
Getting to know another requires trust and discernment regardless of the relationship. This statement applies to friendship, family, professional, neighborly and romantic connections. The traits for good communication are often lacking in this modern, petty, scammer society.

Question of the Day 2.24.26 πβ‘οΈπ€¨π
What advice would you give to your teenage self?
I wouldn’t change anything.Β Β There are no real regrets.Β Β Gen X grew up with a lot of gas lighting. It’s no one’s fault except the liars, gas lighters and opportunists. Even if I could do things all over again and get to the same point I’m sure I would look back and think I should have done something different.Β Β I see the error in some of my young ways but it was mostly youthful delusion, optimism and wide eyed innocence.Β Now it’s decades later.Β I’ve had many experiences and have met many people.Β This stage of my life can be called sage, wisdom and possibly bitterness.Β But I’ve also become more sensitive, pensive and prayerful.Β Β Good grief.
You live, learn and go through different phases that all offer opportunities for growth and wisdom.

Question of the Day 2.20.26 π§πΏπΉ
I would tell myself to ignore negative Nancys, mean girls (and boys), bullies and haters. There were also people that could have been a lot nicer and encouraging. I stood up to some of the jerks and ignored others. But part of my believed them and it was a complete waste of my time.
PS. I was mean to other people too. I hope they had enough sense to ignore me. There are too many stories about being bullied yet no one ever seems to remember being a bully or an accomplice. π€ I would tell myself that “friends” that are not very nice to others will eventually turn that behavior towards you. I would also tell myself to be more understanding of others.
